Note for 2024/06/07 - ‭Romans 3:1-31 KJV‬ - Salvation by Faith

‭Romans 3:1-31 KJV‬

[1] What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? [2] Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God. [3] For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? [4] God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, And mightest overcome when thou art judged. [5] But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) [6] God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? [7] For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? [8] And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just. [9] What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; [10] as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [11] There is none that understandeth, There is none that seeketh after God. [12] They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; There is none that doeth good, no, not one. [13] Their throat is an open sepulchre; With their tongues they have used deceit; The poison of asps is under their lips: [14] Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: [15] Their feet are swift to shed blood: [16] Destruction and misery are in their ways: [17] And the way of peace have they not known: [18] There is no fear of God before their eyes. [19] Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. [20] Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.  [21] But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; [22] even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: [23] for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: [25] whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; [26] to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. [27] Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. [28] Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. [29] Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: [30] seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Note for 2024/06/07

As many of you may know by now, English is not my first language. I must admit that at times the language becomes complex for me to navigate. But may this too glorify GOD, that the Word of GOD is Spiritual and comes by the Spirit to the Holy Spirit that dwells in us.

Now another thing that could make The Word difficult to navigate at times is the Times we are living in. You see, there are many things that have changed since then, but in essence it has not changed the Word. The nature of The Word is still the same, and GOD did not change His mind about what is good for man. His instruction is still the same, it is humanity that has moved on, and too a large part, away from The GOD that made us. Have you ever told a lie, even a small one? What about when someone asks you how you are doing, and you reply, "good" when you know it is not going well with you, but you would rather not speak about it? Is that not a lie too?

All of us fall short of the Glory of GOD. Good deeds are the fruit of our faith, not? And if then a tree, does every branch bear fruit, do we always do good? Still is the tree known by its fruit. The fruit that is acceptable to GOD is the fruit of love, for GOD is love. And it is important to note that the world's definition of love and the Word's description of love is not the same. The one gives and the other takes.

Paul makes it clear that the law defines for us what sin is, just as the Word of GOD teaches us what righteousness is. Where else can we learn but from the GOD of Righteousness? In us there is a conscience installed, but many have silenced it within them. If that conscience is guided in the Truth of The Word of GOD, it serves us well. But, if it is silenced, or even corrupted by adopting the lies of this world. What does this mean? Well, let me then use a common saying of the world to explain, "snitches get stitches." You see, instead of doing what is right, group pressure and loyalty to something other than the Truth can corrupt a person's choices. Not that I promote any form of condemnation of a person, but how then will one correct one's way by a corrupted measure?

I do not want to lean too deep into a different direction than what the word is about today. But, it is important that we must know that the measure must be true and dependable. So, we have the law and the prophets to guide us on what is good and what is evil. We have the Words of Christ Jesus, which is senior to all. And His words confirm the law and the prophets, He fulfilled it..

Today, there are many things that we have heard over and over as we have grown up. Some of the sayings have become so regular, that I think some of us might not ponder on it as we should anymore. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and The Life. He is literally The Way, it is not just a saying. Look at the Life that we should follow. The question really then becomes whether we are following Christ Jesus or if we just know about Him, for even evil spirits and demons know of Christ. They know He is the Son of GOD and they are subject to his authority. How can you deny The Son of GOD and expect that The Father will accept you? Have you not read that The Father and The Son is one? We accept the Truth when we live by it. And while not under the Law, we are still directed by the Law unto living in righteousness, right? Or has it somehow become okay to murder, when Christ preached on the mount that to hate your brother is murder? Friends, we all stand guilty of sin, do you understand that? Our rescue is in the forgiveness we received in Jesus Christ. We are justified by Him, not in ourselves. And when then forgiven, should we not walk after the ways of Him that brought us such a great rescue? Should we not show the mercy that we received? By far, the one that is forgiven should not walk in the like manner again. If we walk after sin, then we love unrighteousness, and GOD is Righteous, so is His Son, our Lord and Savior. So what excuses can we offer up, to seek occasion to sin; and sin is defined. Even in ourselves we know when we do wrong, but is that wrong measured by the world or by GOD?

Friends, I can not save any one, even I am saved by Christ alone. All I can do is point you to the Lord of Salvation. By faith in Him may you receive The Holy Spirit, that will be the guide of correction in you. In Truth, the only answer I should offer up to any question you may have, is to say, "ask Jesus Christ." As the Lord Jesus Christ directs you to the Father, so I point to Jesus. He is the Way, not I. He is the Word of GOD, from Who I learn the way. The Holy Spirit is The Word of GOD in us. How have I come to know that which I share here with you, it is by the Word of GOD. I can boast about nothing in myself, it is all from GOD. No, if you want to see me, then look at my failures, my misunderstanding and all of my errors. Like you, I am still on this journey, I am learning here with you.

I share what I can, to help. But, right now, all I am doing is sharing oil. The light of Christ Jesus, I am shining into the world. What then if I am no longer here, taken to be with the Lord; is it then not wise that a lamp be lit in you too? Nothing is of me, it is of GOD. The Holy Spirit and the Word of GOD is available to all that believe. It does require work. It does require spending time in the Word. It requires a choice to be made and to walk in a new way, even as Christ explained that we must be born again. It is not my words, I am simply repeating what Christ said.

The last question for this note, may be the hardest one. How do you expect to know the LORD, when you do not spend time with Him? We know someone by his words, whether he is truthful or a liar. GOD left us His Word, so we may know Him.

Shalom.

‭Psalm 4:1-8 KJV‬

[1] Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: Thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; Have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. [2] O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? How long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. [3] But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: The LORD will hear when I call unto him. [4] Stand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. [5] Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the LORD. [6]  There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up The light of thy countenance upon us. [7] Thou hast put gladness in my heart, More than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. [8] I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: For thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
