Note for 2024/05/22 - ‭2 Corinthians 1:1-24 KJV‬ - Two states in one Place

‭2 Corinthians 1:1-24 KJV‬

[1] Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: [2] grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.  [3] Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; [4] who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. [5] For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. [6] And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. [7] And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. [8] For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: [9] but we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: [10] who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; [11] ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. [12] For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. [13] For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end; [14] as also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are our's in the day of the Lord Jesus. [15] And in this confidence I was minded to come unto you before, that ye might have a second benefit; [16] and to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judæa. [17] When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay? [18] But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. [19] For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. [20] For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. [21] Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; [22] who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. [23] Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth. [24] Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

Note for 2024/05/22

If you remember from yesterday's reading, Paul mentioned how he was intending to come to Corinth and winter there, if the Lord Permitted. This here is the greeting to them in a second letter, informing them that he would not be coming because he was prevented.

Friends, they were pressed on all sides, often barely escaping with their lives, for this reason Paul also has written in the past, how he bare the marks of Christ in his body. They knew persecution, oppression to the point of fearing for their lives. And still they preached, still they sent encouragement to each other.

Now, many of you may have become aware that life has become a whole lot harder since we dealt with the plague of 2020. And I have to limit my speech on that for many reasons. But, this I can say; besides the deaths that go unreported around the World, not just related to that, but also because of persecution; there is also the degradation of economics and peace. I remained hopeful that somehow, things would get better; but this world seems to obsess itself with destruction at this time.

You may have noticed how old troubles have come around again, and join themselves with brand new troubles. As a simple measure, things are becoming exorbitantly expensive, while incomes are dwindling. And now, regrettably, I must speak in such a way that will strengthen your faith, for as a watcher, I see no hope of relief outside our faith in Christ Jesus. And it is for our faith that we may soon suffer again, even as Paul and the early churches suffered, maybe more.

There are those that still speak as if nothing has changed in the world we are living in, but surely you have seen a rise in revolt all over the entire globe. And while my advice will remain, do not join yourself to those that rebel; still will you see more and more of that.

My friends, if you now see a public figure rise and bring about a promise of peace, it may very well be him that we have been warned about. Even the very man that will set up the abomination of desolation and stop the daily sacrifice. Now, this takes knowledge to understand, which I hope you have already.

It is time, friends. The time has come, I am convinced. Do not be so entertained and oppressed that you miss all the signs of the times. Fear not, but trust in the LORD for your eternal salvation. For Christ said, this will be a time like no other. Our hope is not in this flesh, we know that as all those before us, the flesh must return to the dust from where it came from; except for those that will remain to be alive at the Lord's return.

Friends, the enemy believes in their resolve too. On their part they feel we who believe in Christ have oppressed them with our conservative views. Those in the world are eager to explore all that they may become, employing the schemes and devices they invented. We stand at the edge, where we will see those who crave power and wealth and also those who stand in revolt. It is in fact, global. In our country we are days away from the election, almost as a marker to those that will follow.

Do you wish to hear a lie from me? I can't. I am a watcher, sent to give warning. If only I was called to be a preacher or a teacher, but the Lord determined my role. It is my duty, to tell all of you that may already be sore pressed, it is going to get much worse, quickly. I cannot give you timing, for that has not been made clear yet. But it is as if it is imminent.

For this reason, my words to you are to strengthen yourself in the faith. Bring your struggle against weaknesses as secure as you can. Meet the Lord in your daily prayers, let the Holy Spirit guide you along. Consider also those that are still young in the faith, also those who are fading because of their age. For some will need more care than others.

It does not please me to bring this news. Not at all, even though I was hoping for more time. Do not let the lesser things consume your time, but get serious about your faith now. I am assured that The Lord will make quick work at this time of your correction. And has the Holy Spirit not been pleading with all as I have experienced in myself? The urgency is not of me, but from within, isn't it? Do not be misguided by the Hirelings, the wolves are coming. So I speak to those that know, to whom the Lord has called in knowledge for the sake of others. And yet I pray for mercy, time for those who are still lost to come into the fold. Look up! For your redemption draws near. Strengthen your resolve for the enemy is at the door. Expect to see the enemy revealed. Notice the forces come together, know the time, but more than that know your Savior. For when they say peace and safety, the destruction will come suddenly. So it is written. First, we may have to witness the fall of Jerusalem, to be trod underfoot 42 months.

My Prayer for you

Lord, my GOD, I call out in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Remember your merciful kindness, have mercy on us. Forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Oh, Lord! Provide for us safe passage, divide the chaos so we can pass through unharmed. Meet us in provisions Father, equip us with what is needed, most of all faith, hope and love. Assign your Angels to us Father, each unto their post as You see fit. Your Kingdom comes and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Lead us not into temptations, especially at this time, but deliver us from all evil. Lord, create that place of separation for us, as you did in Goshen for Israel back then. Lead us through in safety. Protect our loved ones and Yours. Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Hallelujah. Come Lord Jesus, Come.

Amen.

May the LORD Bless and Keep you. May He be Your Protector, Provider and Your Strength. May He Keep you in the palm of His Hand. Do not be afraid, trust in the LORD, trust in His Will, His plan for each one. More than ever now, do not give in to complaint, do not give in to offense and do give in to being offended. Show mercy and kindness, for each will reap what he has sown. And if you have not repented, now is the time.

Shalom.

The Good News is the Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ, the warning is for that from which we may have need to be saved from. Stand strong in the last mile of our journey. Make your lamps ready.

Verse of the day Expanded

‭1 Samuel 2:1-10 KJV‬

[1] And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, Mine horn is exalted in the LORD: My mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; Because I rejoice in thy salvation. [2]  There is none holy as the LORD: For there is none beside thee: Neither is there any rock like our God. [3] Talk no more so exceeding proudly; Let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And by him actions are weighed. [4] The bows of the mighty men are broken, And they that stumbled are girded with strength. [5]  They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; And they that were hungry ceased: So that the barren hath born seven; And she that hath many children is waxed feeble. [6] The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. [7] The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: He bringeth low, and lifteth up. [8] He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, And lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, To set them among princes, And to make them inherit the throne of glory: For the pillars of the earth are the LORD's, And he hath set the world upon them. [9] He will keep the feet of his saints, And the wicked shall be silent in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail. [10] The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; Out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: The LORD shall judge the ends of the earth; And he shall give strength unto his king, And exalt the horn of his anointed.
