Note for 2024/04/28 - 1 Thessalonians 5:12-24 KJV
1 Thessalonians 5:12-24 KJV
[12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; [13] and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. [14] Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. [15] See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. [16] Rejoice evermore. [17] Pray without ceasing. [18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. [19] Quench not the Spirit. [20] Despise not prophesyings. [21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. [23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. [24] Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Note for 2024/04/28
Consider what you have just read, even read the text again if need be, as indeed I have done.
Friends, every verse here has a teaching. Every verse in a conclusion, a crescendo, of the teaching, advice and instruction in this letter written to the church, by Paul, in love; inspired by the Holy Spirit in him.
Verse 23: "And the very God of peace sanctify you... "
How then do the words even I write here to you today reach you, how is it received? Who sanctifies us?
Verse 24: "Faithful is he that called you, who also will do it."
These little extracts from the highlighted extract from the extracted chapter of the letter written first to the Thessalonians; it does not stand alone. It is built upon that which came before it. Yet, was this letter so significant for our faith that it has been read for almost 2000 years. Kept and preserved, and I put it to you, by God Himself. Is it not a treasure then?
Friends, just because you may have a sense of security at this time in your life, does not mean that you have nothing left to learn. And if we truly learned, then the state of our church, even of the entire world would not be in the state it is today. These are not just precious words for us to read and understand, it only lives when we apply it as a living testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Apply it, live in it.
Each one of us must then consider if we have taken in what we just read. What of, "... know them which labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love, for their work's sake..? " Is that nothing? What is it to esteem very highly in love? What is this labor that is spoken of? I am asking these questions, because of what I see in our time.
Friends, look at how I reason with you about the Word of GOD. Do you think this effort, or shall I call it a labor in love, comes without great care? Don't you know that I was called to do this very thing and that my preparation for it was guided by The Lord too? I have been sanctified for what I am doing here, proved by God. My body carries scars too. I stand in a separation. I was called from what I was doing to what I am doing now.
Verse 14... Have I not been speaking of warnings? And I was called as a witness.
Let me clarify a little, on the blog that I maintain daily, an extended teaching was provided on the matter of the process of sanctification Paul spoke of. My friends, the definition section on the word sanctify was 8 A4 pages long, and references from Genesis to Revelations were provided as the word "sanctification" applies Biblically. The teaching was brought to me as it was defined by a great scholar. Only 8 people read it from the hundreds that receive these notes daily. The blog has statistics. Is it then an assumption or based on what can be proved, I told you I was called as a witness. What am I a witness of?
I am grieved in the Spirit, I am concerned about the state of the church. Don't you know that Paul wrote his letters to the church because of concerns too? The root of concern is based on love and care.
To those who read here on this Bible App, I will testify that you did not have access to the blog where the extended note was posted. Yet, the link to the blog is on my profile. But, there is no expectation on you to perform a treasure hunt. You did not receive it, I am witness to it. But those that received it on other platforms all had links to it within the note. Do you have any idea what you have missed out on? You won't, if you did not read. So too does the one that does not read for understanding from the Word of GOD, miss out on the understanding part. And without understanding the reading may as well have been read from the back of a cereal box. In fact, reading without understanding is far more dangerous. That is a warning, isn't it?
It is not my intention to offend anyone. But how do we deal with matters that are being neglected when the salvation of souls are on the line? The sad thing is, that many of those that qualify won't read this here. Even as some may have paused in their reading here because of being offended. What is the process of sanctification then? How are we to become holy? It is written that we must be holy for GOD is HOLY. See what you have missed?
So I ask you, you may even just skim over these words here as it is. What have you read here, in the highlighted text above, that you will not remember tomorrow? Is it, "rejoice evermore," or "pray without ceasing" or "in everything give thanks" or "quench not the Spirit" or is it all the above, and even that which I have not highlighted here right now? These are instructions from Paul The Apostle of Jesus Christ, not even me alone. And both of us speak from the Holy Spirit that indwells with us.
Abraham did not have what we have now, neither did King David. We have a written record, a teaching brought that can be studied in depth, what will be our excuse of not knowing? We stand in a period of Grace for Salvation of the soul. A merciful time, because of the free gift we received in Christ. What are we doing with all that we have been given? Or are we still crying for meat as the Israelites did in the desert?
Do not say, "I did not know." For if you did not know you had everything at your fingertips to study and become knowledgeable on all. Does this sound like a warning, because it is. Even when the Lord sends people like me to lay it out as a meal to eat, you do not eat because you are full of the teachings of this world. Man is comfortable in his paradigms. And still the soul cries out for it is hungry for the sake of salvation. For GOD so loved the world that He sent His only Begotten Son, so that those who believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life. What is that to you? Because the Prophets of GOD desired for it but did not see it. We have it, and what does the world do with that? We have the Word of GOD written down, indexed, cross referenced and codified. All convenient, something we can carry with us everywhere.
So I ask again, do we have an excuse for not knowing? So yes, indeed, this is a warning. Have we then become unruly? If you love someone, do you avoid them? Do you duck and dive from speaking to them or hearing from them? What is the Word of GOD then? You do not have to listen to me, but listen to the Word of GOD, please!
Friends,I know that these words will fall hard on many, and it is my hope that it will bring you closer to God. I am corrected when I do wrong, do we not all need that? Even as we need our daily Bread?
Do not miss out on opportunities that GOD positioned for you to receive. Do not be distracted by this world and drink in all the lies that come from it. Please.
Shalom
